I am a long-time wine lover and ZINfandel enthusiast. My interest in wine is more casual and recreational than formal and involved. I don't drink a lot of wine, but I do enjoy trying different wines all of the time -- just to see what they are like! I don't have a favorite type of wine, and I appreciate all styles of wine when they are served in the right context. I love traveling around California, stopping by wineries, and tasting wines. For me, it's fun to discover small wineries off the beaten track and to find that many of them make high quality wines at decent prices. Why is this site about ZINs of Sonoma County? I've always liked ZINs, but people do not write about ZIN the way they do about chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, and other wines. It's more difficult to find information about ZIN, so I constructed this site to pull together in one place some of what is available about ZIN on the WWW. I decided to focus on Sonoma County ZINs because I am the most familiar with these ZINs. Who am I? I work as a research consultant in the health care field. I live in Los Angeles, but I'm often up in Sonoma County. I try to get around to my favorite wineries often, as well as explore other wineries to taste their ZINs. Your comments? I'm interested in your comments or suggestions about this site. And, of course, I'd like to hear anything you have to say about ZIN! |
