Whether it's DXpeditioning, leading an ARES disaster drill operation, VHF
mountaintopping or giving presentations to radio clubs and the public, Amateur Radio has been a major part of my life for
over forty years. There are many ways to give back to ham radio: providing public service, teaching, serving as a volunteer
examiner, advocating to the public. I am involved in all these activities, and I am privileged to give back in
another way: by serving as Vice-Director for the ARRL's Southwestern Division, which includes the Arizona, Los Angeles, Orange,
San Diego and Santa Barbara Sections.
Few, if any, organizations have "too many" volunteers, and the ARRL is no
exception in needing active members who can contribute their talents. Whether your strengths are technical, operational,
organizational or interpersonal, I urge each of you to contact your Section leadership to learn how you can help your
fellow amateurs.
To find your Section contact information and Web page, click on "National, Division and
Section Links", to the left.
The ARRL is currently seeking member input concerning its long-range strategic goals.
You can submit your comments through the members-only portion of the ARRL Web site or submit comments directly to Dir. Norton,
N6AA, or me.
