Darryl:  I still can't believe you came to St. Mary's for the 
Canadian
                                                      Baseball Hall of Fame Day. 
This is a guy who rubs shoulders with presidents and movie stars. 
As I was driving up from
                                                      London and not knowing what to expect, 
I thought would I be able to get a picture with you or even get close? 
As I
                                                      approaced you and your entourage of none, You were kind enough 
to pose for a picture and sign something for my fourteen
                                                      year old son. 
The show was great and I know that it was a long day for you. 
I'd like to thank you for coming to such
                                                      a small town and supporting 
a community like St. Mary's. I'm sure you basically did it for free 
and we appreciate
                                                      all that Lorne Michaels has done for the Hall as well. 
My love of sports and comedy came together on a beautiful summer
                                                      day in 
Southern Ontario. All I can say is when I had my brief encounter with 
greatness(you), it would be the same
                                                      as if you had a few seconds with 
someone you really admired. You didn't let me down. You were genuine, 
sincere and
                                                      I'll never forget that. Getting a chance to thank you in person 
for all the laughs you've given me was all I wanted and
                                                      I got to do that. 
I don't know if you'll ever read this, perhaps on a long flight. 
If you do get a chance,Thanks again
                                                      for making a fourty five year old man 
write a fan letter like a fawning school girl. I'd like to wish you and 
your
                                                      family all the best in the future. As for selfish reasons I hope you 
stay on SNL for many years. It's a great vehicle
                                                      for you and there'll never 
be another Darrell Hammond.
