My Family History

America is a nation of immigrants, rich with
cultural diversity and custom. Perhaps your
experience is similar to mine--parents, step-parents
and grandparents who were very involved supporting
their households with little time and no inclination to
teach or record the family heritage.

My search for ancestors began with my maternal
grandmother's family, the Hoegners, and led me to
the Evangelical Lutheran parish at Illschwang
Bavaria (photo at left), where I held the register in
which generations of my Hoegner ancestors'
christenings, confirmations, marriages and deaths
were recorded.

The surnames I am researching are: Baldwin, DeReche, Depeau, Hoegner, Frach,
Jackson, Mallory, Newham, Paulus, Welker, Weisner, Wiesner and Wisher.
