2008 Show

Our annual show was held  March 6th and 7th.  Click here to see the latest show pictures, and here to see our blue-ribbon winners.

Hard work by numerous club members paid off with a very successful show.  Our attendance this year was up by 16% after several years of decline.  Club president, Rich Baginski, noted that many shows have had attendance declines in the past year, so even breaking even would have been a success.  Raffle sales were up a whopping 69%, and we signed up about twelve new members.  We had twice as many items in our silent auction this year, and the quality of the items was great.  Participating carvers had four hours to craft a 1 ½ x 1 ½ x 6 inch basswood block into a finished piece of work.

Corporate sponsorship was also very strong this year.  Sponsors are literally too numerous to mention here.  Please check the sponsors page to see a complete list.

Our seminars were also successful, and we had very positive feedback from participants.  We squeezed thirteen students into twelve slots for the Bob Travis caricature seminar, and we filled thirteen of fifteen slots for the Chris Lubkeman twig-carving seminar.
