I am
a proffesional, full-time farrier. I am a graduate of Midwest Horseshoeing School located in Macomb, Illinois. However, I didn't stop there with my education. I believe continuing education
is one of the most important things a farrier can do for his customers and their horses. Most recently I attended the
International Hoof care Summit in Cincinnati, Ohio. There, I was able to learn techniques and share ideas with some of the best farriers
in the world as well as prominent equine veterinarians.
Science has made many advances in farrier science in recent years and it can be difficult for the horse-owner to separate
the fad techniques from the ones that really work. I stay up on the latest so that I can help you to determine fact
from fiction as well as develop a strategy to address horses with special shoeing needs. I will honestly assess
your horses’ feet as well as provide you with advice on hoof care and maintenance of the hooves. I will
measure your horse’s angles and match them to the angle of the pastern. Proper alignment of the bone column is
important for your horses comfort and longevity

Quality hoofcare is the foundation of a healthy and athletic horse. If this important foundation
is neglected your horse, and your enjoyment of him, will suffer. Poor or erratic hoof care can effect almost every aspect
of your horses life in the pasture, on the trail, or in the show ring.
My clients consist of people & horses in almost every walk
of life. I do everything from Halter, Western Pleasure, working cow horses of all kinds, 3-day eventers, Hunter/Jumpers,
Trail horses, beloved pets, and everything in between.
I work
on all breeds but I am not crazy about working on Drafts. They are hard on my back and my tools, and can cause considerable
damage to me when upset, so I charge accordingly. I do work on gaited horses but I leave the Saddlebred and
Tennessee Walking Horse show packages to the farriers who specialize in this. The techniques and tools are highly specialized.
I also do some corrective shoeing and will work with your vet
to address your horse’s special needs. I have successfully treated founder, navicular, cracks, as well as neglected
(overgrown) feet.
I also custom make shoes and travel with a forge, however,
custom made shoes are generally not a necessity these days because of the wide variety of quality premade shoes on the market
today. Please peruse the rest of my site and feel free to contact me with questions.
THANK's for visiting!
