My 68 Camaro

A current pic taken 10/14/00 of my 1968 camaro. Page 2 and 3 links are at the bottom of the page and include other pictures of various cars, check it out.

The interior is original style, with black buckets. A B&M Quick Silver shifter works the gears, while a full 3" tube with 3 chamber flowmasters make up the exhaust system.

The engine is a 468. It's got oval port heads, comp extreme energy 284 cam, SRP 10:1 pistons. It has a Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap intake with an Edelbrock 750 carb on top. Ignition is a Small Body HEI and a MSD 6AL. I also made the aluminum cowl induction pan with rubber seal.

These are my new better fitting wheels, they are 16x7 with 215/50 front and 16x8 with 255/50 rear, BFG T/A radials in the front and BFG Drag Radial for the rear. They are not the exact size I want, but they will do for now until I get some 17" with proper backspacing to use the largest tires possible. The front suspension icludes poly bushings, big block springs with 1.5 coils cut, Guldstrand upper control arm relocation modification, KYB shocks, Hotchkis sway bar, all new wearable parts, and poly subframe bushings. The brakes are full manual with front disk. The disc brake set up came from a 73 Nova using a 67 camaro master cylinder. I added new calipers and Power-Stop crossdrilled rotors. The rear includes a 8.5" 10 bolt with 3.73 posi, mono-leaf springs and poly bushings. Competition Engineering subframe connectors that have been welded in keep the car from flexing with all that big block torque. A 3" driveshaft connect the rear end to the 700R-4 transmission. Virtually everything on this car is new or rebuilt.

This picture was taken at the Car Craft show in St. Louis at Gateway International Raceway. The girl is the winner of the swimsuit contest they had. The engine I had in the car here was a 396, I bought it used and got screwed on the deal, it also had a 350TH. So both came out in favor of a 468 and 700, money well spent. The wheels are 14" old style american racing torque thrust.

This picture is in Popular Hotrodding, Feb 00 on page 69. They did miss spell my name though. It was taken at Special Events "Street Machine Nationals" in Springfeild MO. The show is alot of fun and I would recommend going to it.
