Christie’s had a booth in the dealer’s
room with many items on display from the October auction. They were also interviewing many people (actors, fans etc) that
came into contact with the auction items or were in some way affected. They were putting together a CD/DVD of the story behind
the Christie’s Trek Auction to be released in November.
Jim & I spent some time in the Christie’s
booth and were asked to participate. We agreed and were interviewed on camera right there in the booth. The interviewer asked
some good questions and he was surprised at how much we knew about Trek, conventions, and fandom. We signed the release forms
and gave him our contact info. He could not guarantee that our footage would be used, but he felt that it would since we were
(in his words) intelligent and articulate. Apparently not all the folks he’s interviewed have been.
So we’ll look for the CD/DVD in November
and hope that we look presentable and represent Trek fans well.
