line.
Federal Property
Carrying a gun on Federal Property is a big no-no. There is a Federal Statute
concerning this and many of the bureaucracies have their own rules.
The most important place not to carry is a post office. They are certainly the
most serious when it comes to carrying. Postal Inspectors are not fun people and
they will prosecute.
Federal Parks are another place. You should not carry in any federal park or property
managed by the Dept. of the Interior. You can get in hot water pretty quickly.
Some Federal Lands permit hunting but from what I have been told, Concealed Carry
is out of the question.
Airports
Carrying at an airport is not a good idea. Even if you are only in the lobby picking
someone up you still can get in hot water. From what I was told, concealed carry on any
part of airport property is not permitted.
Pennsylvania Public Schools
In Pennsylvania, carrying a firearm on Public School property can result in losing
your right to own firearms forever. I do not know if a permit will allow you to
carry on school grounds, no one has been able to tell me. It is probably a good
idea not to though.
Colleges
Most colleges will bounce you out if you are caught carrying, permit or not. Mine
will. If you are a student and caught carrying, you can get expelled. Iam not too
sure what happens legally to a non-student legally carrying. I cannnot imagine them
being able to press charges, but they might.
Going out of State
Most states do not reciprocate with others. A few do. Make darn sure they do before
you try. The NRA has a pamphlet available for people who travel interstate with
firearms. Get it.
I have my fingers crossed that this Bill on national reciprocation will pass.
Then it won't be an issue.
Again, this is not a complete list. If you have anything to add, I would really l
ike to hear it. I wrote this because so many people I know including me,
have unanswered questions about concealed carry.
