Goodbye MyGamesFever
It seems like today is the last day for MyGamesFever.
I'm unhappy to see it go. It was a really fun program. Although I became disillusioned by the YOYO puzzles, I do really like
the hosts.
As there are two sides to every coin, so there are both positives and negatives to the end of MyGamesFever. Now that the "promotion"
is over, we'll get a list of winners, and we might be able to know how much money was given out in winnings.
There is also a slight chance that we'll be given some information about the counting methods for the YOYO puzzles. I'm also
interested to know how much money the company made or lost during its run. I suspect that it made money during its first three
months, then began to lose money as more people became aware of the free method of entry on the website.
As much as I liked the show, I must admit that a small number of people were probably harmed by it. After all, it is a form
of gambling. I don't want to try to imagine what was going on in the finances of people who maxed out their 25 entries each
day but never used the website entry method. But even for people who used the free entry method, this program tended to dominate
one's time, and it was a two-hour program.
Goodbye GamesFever. You were a really fun show, but I know that in Television, only "I Love Lucy" lasts forever
:-)

No Longer addicted to Games Fever
It seems that I'm no longer addicted to GamesFever. I didn't even bother to watch Monday's (April 16th) show.
For quite a while I was really interested in the YOYO game. I thought I knew the answer or that I could find it, but over
the last week, it's become obvious that the TV show does not use consistent and rational counting methods.
Evidently part of the game is guessing what counting method they are using. In my opinion that makes GamesFever much more
of a gambling show than a game show. If gambling is all they want to do over at GamesFever, I no longer wish to participate.

Near Winners?
On today's show, the producers suggested that two of the following numbers was close to the "correct" answer:
6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 17, 18, 33, 34, 36, 49, 53, 54, 116, 117, 133, 405, 408

Detailed list of YOYOs (East Coast game)
As some of you already know, I have a program that counts YOYOs. It can also output a
detailed YOYO count
that shows how each YOYO is found. This could be helpful to some people who are confused as to why so many people are guessing
118 for the current YOYO game.
You might also follow the other links on this site that link to blogs that discuss the most popular counting methods.

Why not 118?
Why did GamesFever reject 118 as the answer for this YOYO game? My program (which has been modified to ignore diagonals) counts
118, and many other people count 118.
I failed to get extra sensory perception features
into my program, so I'm stuck with the wrong answer of 118 for the current East Coast YOYO puzzle.

What's going on here?
Something strange is going on. BigDaddyHuah give us some decent
YOYO counting advice
, but his lack of clairvoyance puts us in a strange place.
The newest suspected
YOYO counting method
results in an answer of 58--not 54. Either the FOX producers missed some YOYOs, or there is another
secret rule
that disqualifies some YOYOs.
My program, modified to ignore diagonals, counts
58 YOYO's in the West-Coast YOYO puzzle that was won with
an answer of 54.

YOYO Game Bewilderment
I'm in a state of bewilderment.
On the west coast, the following YOYO puzzle was won; it has 54 YOYO's in it:
_ _ Y O Y
_ Y O Y O O
O Y Y O Y Y O
_ O Y Y Y O
_ _ Y O Y
My program for counting YOYOs is wrong and needs to be substantially redesigned.
One of the potential additions I'm wondering how to add to my program is extra sensory perception. My program needs to read
the minds of GamesFever producers to find the counting method.

Kudos to Alex
Alex, whoever you are, you deserve recognition. You were one of the smarter players on GamesFever, and you were the first
one on today's show.
You did everything exactly right, you gave your name, your location, and when asked, your very-well though-out answer: 118.
For a moment, I though you were a >$3000 winner. Hey, it's not your fault you can't read minds, but you had a really good
guess.

Program + Feedback = Better Program
Outdated Information:
Fever Meister at http://gamesfevertv.blogspot.com/
advised me that the previous version of my program was hard to see, so I've updated it to make the YOYO's more prominent.
I also decided to do the most popular YOYO game. I know you want it. :-)
However, I had to make it faster because animating 406 frames at 1 frame per second takes over six minutes. (However, 406
is not the correct answer. My program's counting method must be adjusted.)

Counting YOYOs Colorfully.
Outdated Information:
I've given my program the ability to color-highlight the YOYO words it finds, and I've also added the
ability to output frames. Using the GNU Image Manipulation
Program, I've been able to combine the frames into an animated GIF.
I think I've covered all the bases. Please let me know if I'm missing anything. My program counts 163 YOYO's (outdated).
