Hello, and welcome to my site! Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge is a renowned wildlife refuge that covers over 57,000 acres in central New Mexico, USA along the Rio Grande River. Approximately 2 hours south of Albuquerque and 3 hours north of El Paso, Texas, the refuge is a primary wintering ground for migrating snow geese and sandhill cranes. Numerous other animal species can easily be found, including bald eagles, coyotes, Canada geese, songbirds, raptors, and waterfowl. For those who make the long trip to the refuge in the winter months, it is almost always worth the effort.
Bird photography is my hobby, and the following is a sample of the photos that can be taken at the refuge with a 300mm lens and a little bit of luck.

If you're curious about the equipment I used to capture
these images, take a look at my Equipment
Page. Bosque del Apache really is a wonderful place to spend
an entire day, starting at sunrise and ending at sunset. The refuge
presents an unbeatable concentration of birds that is unmatched for its
beauty and accessability. For more information on visiting the refuge,
here are some refuge-related
links. Happy shooting!
