John's professional Bass Fishing career started with a fish called "WANDA". Wanda was
the largest of three trophy largemouth bass John caught within a week of each other in Houston County Lake, in Texas, and
implanted with radio transmitters.
That week marked the beginning of an amazing story that has established John as a nationally
recognized expert on the behavior of trophy largemouth bass.
John and his late wife, Wanda, tracked more than 30 largemouth bass ranging from seven pounds
to 15 pounds eight ounces, on lakes through out the nation. The tracking program also involved other species, including
walleye and a couple of trophy smallmouth bass.
John has been an outdoor television host of Fishing Texas. He has also been closely
associated with Jerry Dean's Honey Hole Fishing Show through the years.
