Book Review:
Locker Hooking: An American Perspective by
Marilyn Livingston 14799 E. Augusta Dr., Augusta, MI 49012
Marilyn Livingston starts the beginning
locker hooker with very helpful descriptions and diagrams, both of fiber
and technique. The detailed and clear descriptions left me believing I
could do this with only the hook, fleece and cotton rug canvas with sizing
(and a couple other tools you use every day around the house).
Her designs extend from beginner -
simple to quite complex. She even leads to designing projects, and shows
how to estimate the amount of fleece that would be needed.
Details on "troubleshooting" are clear
and might come in handy for me someday, as I can see that this method of
using fleece to design rugs, wall hangings, and many other projects including
clothing and housewares, portends much enjoyment!
The 23 line drawings and graphs, and
18 colorful illustrations of patterns and completed projects are truly
delightful and very clear, for those of us who like a" good picture" to
clarify some point.
I'm sure this little 60+ page book
will find a place on the shelves of many fleece crafters and growers.
Hope you all enjoy this--and please let
Marilyn know how much you enjoy her book!
