Murph Hang Gliding

The description of "running off a cliff" strapped to a glider turned out to be more daunting than the actual experience -- just don't look down and let the glider do the work. In the air (with an experienced pilot) the feeling is remarkably peaceful and safe. We floated along with several buzzards who were also floating on the updrafts.

We took off down there where those treetops are and rose on the warm breeze blowing against the ridge from the sea.

My pilot, Hernando, gave me a brief flying lesson, and I took this picture myself.
