The village of Szekelyzsombor was originally built as a Saxon village. Characteristic of Saxon architecture, the houses are a little taller than in other villages, often with a second floor, and have tall gates for horses and wagons to pass under. |
The white building on the right in this photo as you look down the street is the Lutheran church and parsonage. The tractor is evidence that the land is always reforming as well as the people. |

Here is another photo along the street. The ducks in the distance are a small example of how animals and humans live together. In the evening, cows walk home through the streets from the fields, remembering all by themselves which home is theirs. |
