Thunderstorms
Do not hide under a tree from lightning. Go in your home.
A.A.

Rainstorms
A rainstorm can bring thunder.  Thunder can bring lightning.
Lightning can knock down a tree and the tree can hurt someone.
T.F.

I like snowstorms because we get to stay home from school.
Snowstorms are like blizzards.  Everything is white and it's hard
to see outside.
L.B.

Snowstorms
Snowstorms are hard to see in.  Snow is fun, but snowstorms are not.
Did you know that a snowstorm can cover up a car?  Did you know that snowstorms are cold?  Did you know that snowstorms are very bad?
J.C.

A blizzard is big and a lot of snow.  It is freezing in a blizzard. When the storm is done, we can play outside.
A.F.

Rainstorms
Rainstorms are terrible.  They can bring lightning.  Before the lightning,  you hear thunder.  Lightning can kill somebody.
L.S.

Lightening
You can get hurt by lightning!  You can get shocked by lightning!  Do not go outside when there is lightning.  You should look at the weather. Make sure there is no lightning!
R.C.

Rainstorms have lightning and thunder.  Lightning is very dangerous.  Lightning can shake you.  It hurts very bad.  Thunder is very loud!

Between the Lions continues to thrill not only kids, but critics as well! The show that helps teach kids to read has won a second
Television Critics Association "Outstanding Achievement in Children's Programming" Award. Winner of last year's award in the same category, Between the Lions has once again been chosen for this television honor gven annually by the 22-year-old Television Critics Association.

"We are deeply honored to win the top children's award two years in a row," says Between the Lions executive producer Judy Stoia.
"It's a validation of what we're all about: to use the powerful force of television to help young children learn to read."

WAY TO GO!
The Between the Lions program and web site have just been endorsed by the National Education Association (NEA), the largest teachers organization in the U.S. This is the first time in over ten
years that they have endorsed an ongoing television program.

NEA president Bob Chase said, "This extraordinary program is a bonus for children and teachers. Not only will the series help beginning readers learn key skills that are essential to learning to read, the Between the Lions series and web site provide teachers, parents, and caregivers top-notch lessons that support learning. "It's rare that the NEA recommends TV, and even rarer for us to wholeheartedly promote a program. But Between the Lions breaks
the mold. It's quality television that supports quality teaching."
