Rhonda- and generations of Bennetts before her- grew up on the land we now live on, where her father raises angora goats. In the late 80's, he purchased Salt, a nubian, to foster twin angora kids. Salt had triplets- Timothy, Emily, and Spot by Cold Comfort Jamestown, then owned by Zia Capra. Emily gave birth to triplets as well, one of which was Anne. Our interest in dairy goats began in July of '93, when Rhonda's father purchased a young nubian buck, Caesar. We thought he was so beautiful that we wanted our own goat. So Anne became ours. Work caused us to move and have to leave her in Missouri, but by the time we returned in the summer of '98, she had increased our herd to three. Anne died in December of '98. We will always miss her.

2001- We received back three doe kids out of does we culled last year and God blessed us "exceeding, abundantly" when we were able to purchase Goddard Farm LS Neptune, the type of buck we thought would take us many years to be able to find or buy. At the Boone Co. (MO) Fair year we took Grand and Reserve Grand Champion in the Junior doe show.
2002- We added a new herd sire, a Smooth Operator son, Smoothie.
Neptune gave us 3 Reserves and 1 Grand to start our showing season off with and our first "really nice" home-bred doe, Sabrina, gave us 2 firsts at the Boone County and State Fairs. We have begun G-6-S screening and all our CAE tests came back negative!

2003- Kidding season began in December 2002 and ended in June of 2003.  We had 31 kids this year! 13 does and 19 bucks. The show season began in May with the IDGA show where Neptune and Smoothie flip-flopped for 1st and 2nd place- not their best showing. They recovered and again flip-flopped for 1st and 2nd place at the 2003 MoKan, but Neptune went on to win Grand and Best Buck in Show. Smoothie stayed home so the girls could have a ride to Tonganoxie, KS where Neptune won another Grand and Allegiance and Renate' went third and fourth in a large class of dry yearlings. The Missouri State Fair was our best showing yet!  We brought home best of breed and best udder of breed, and many first and seconds.  We, again, tested CAE negative and are continuing to G6S test does as we can.

2004- Our girls have shown well.  Sagitta won reserve junior grand and Night Sky won Recorded Grade Reserve Champion.  Smoothie earned his first Champion leg, but will probably be retiring from the show scene unless he is needed for numbers sake.  Goddard Farm Spin-A-Rhapsody showed very well at the 2004 MO State Fair against some of the toughest competition in the Midwest.  I had to be prompted to return to the ring to show for CH, because I was still standing there in shock!  She was showing against finished champions.  Whirlabout's daughter, Serenity, was second in her class in the junior Nubian show.

Our bucks- or their parents- are all tested G6S normal, so we can guarantee that you will not receive a G6S affected kid from one of our in herd breedings.  The G6S status of bucks used through AI is often unknown.  If the dam’s status is known, it is stated as a tool to you in choosing a Proverbial Caprine kid.  Any testing desired can be arranged at the buyer’s expense.
