What's new

The main use for a "What's New" page is just to assure the reader that the site is still alive, and to show the most recent changes that the reader might have missed since an earlier visit. Hence I have removed the years and years of earlier update entries and will only show the last several months of updates on this page. Rest assured, this site IS currently alive and kicking.
