Marc has always been fascinated by groove. This is always in the front of his mind whenever he is playing. His influences range from from Ray Brown and Paul Chambers to Dave Holland, Drew Gress, and Stanley Clarke. What all these players have in common is groove and their interest in continually pushing jazz forward.

Marc came home to Chicago after being at Knox College under the instruction of Scott Garlock and Earl Gately. He has since played with talents throughout Chicago including QBlue, The Chris Greene Quartet, Jazz Conspiracy, Lori McClain Trio, ESP, The Hunter Adams Trio, Randy Murray, Laura Hoffman, Semenya McCord, and Brienn Perry. He co-founded and co-directs the Summer Lab On Stage program, a musical theater program for 5th-8th graders, at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. He also teaches privately at the Chicago Center School of Music. He spends his free time going the park with his son and his daughter. His love of jazz and black coffee runs deep, and consequently, he rarely sleeps.
