Mystery Of The Universe #3 Ghosts
Ghosts are sometimes referred to as ‘apparitions.' Apparitions may be closer to the truth, as they are spectral visions created in the mind, and do not actually exist physically in our universe. They reside in one of the many dimensions that entwine to create our universe. They reside in the same dimension as our thoughts; they exist in the Universal Mind.
We are not our bodies. We are all Spirits that are linked to the brain of a beast we call ourselves. It is the chemical and electrical reactions of the brain, which creates the connection for our spirit to attach to. Our minds; our spirits, still reside in the dimension of thought. We only use the brain to interact with the physical universe.
Once the brain stops functioning and the reactions ceases, the connection is broken and our spirit loses its portal into the physical universe. If a spirit does not understand where it is, or that it's connection has been terminated, it may not return consciously to the Universal Mind, and continue trying to reconnect to a physical brain. If the spirit has suffered grievously, caused grievous suffering, or died before it could finish something that is important to it, it may feel compelled to try and remain to settle things before moving on.
The apparition that is witnessed is not a physical presence, it is a mental presence. It is all in the mind. It is our own mind connected to the Universal Mind that is being contacted by the errant specter. It sees itself as it was when ‘living,' and projects that image into our minds. It may be trying desperately to tell us something, or trying to accomplish a task it feels it must to obtain closure.
There are many wrongs we can do in ‘life,' that can haunt us even after death. If our spirit is unsettled, it will find it difficult to return to the Universal Mind until it can find release.
Old Timer says:
"Within the vast majority of human beings there resides a spirit or soul if you prefer. Its presence is not necessary for the body to exist but the body is necessary for the spirit to access the physical, especially in it's early formative phase. It attaches to the body in order to learn, to become educated in its future. It has been given an assignment if you will. It must learn that it is eternal, capable of existing forever, and can continue in a dimension other than the one occupied by the present human race.
Upon what do I believe this premise? Look at our past; the answers are there, all around us. Since man first walked upon this planet he has known of another plane of existence, a spiritual plane beyond the physical and mathematical limits of his span of time on this earth. Man has continued to acquire knowledge that takes him closer to the answer. Yet while he is trapped in the human body it dominates his thoughts. It insists that all efforts of learning are directed strictly to maintaining it's earthly existence. That dominance suppresses the spirit, prevents it from learning its role in the universe. It therefore becomes necessary to teach it that it exists, separate and apart from the physical.
On occasion we have glimpsed the knowledge of the universe. We see it in the child prodigy who plays music, masters mathematics, etc far beyond normal skills. That is the result of that spirit expressing its knowledge through the body of its host. We have seen it when we say in answer to another's words, "I knew you were going to say that." We see it when we experience ‘déjà vu'; we have been there before. We see it when we meet a stranger and look into their eyes and know we have met before. We have seen it when we know of danger or fortune before hand. We have what we call ‘Guardian Angels' looking over us. They are our instructors; they have gone before and are leading us to the universal knowledge. We have seen them in near death experiences where we saw figures calling to us, beckoning us to join them. I could go on but the point I'm trying to make is we do know that our spirits exist.
So when one sees a ‘ghost' he is seeing a spirit that has failed to learn what was set out before him. It's become trapped through unexpected physical experiences of its host body. It knows there is more for it to do but it can't until it reacquires its host. It's lost. It's in limbo if you will. Our spirit sees it as one of its own kind. It is searching for help, either from other spirits or through physical means to continue learning of the eternal dimensions of the universe.
Within each of us resides a ‘ghost', a spirit, a soul on its quest for eternity.
