Wm. Michael Mott has been an Art Director, Creative Director, Creative Services Director & Manager for various companies. He is also a freelance artist and writer, and writes both fiction and non-fiction. He has worked as an artist/designer for Fortune 500 companies, for an NSF Engineering Research Center, and for a variety of freelance clients such as book and magazine publishers. His artwork has appeared in many publications, such as Computer Graphics World Magazine, Computer Artist, IEEE Computer, IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications, PHOTO/Electronic Imaging, DRAGON Magazine, and others. He's created artwork and graphic design for mass-market book covers, posters, brochures, packaging, CD-ROM covers and art collections, and digital/web-based media, and has won several design awards, from regional Advertising Federation awards for printed material, to awards for web site graphics and design. His artwork has been featured in the exhibition "In Dreams Awake: Art of Fantasy" at the Olympia and York Gallery, 1988; at the 1987 World Fantasy Con, Con*stellation, and others. His fantasy novels, "Pulsifer: A Fable," and "Land of Ice, A Velvet Knife," have been published in electronic form by Softbook Press Inc. (www.softbook.com, now Gemstar). The first of these novels is now in print, with the second one to follow. One of his illustrated short stories appeared in 2000 as a chapbook from Undaunted Press (www.undauntedpress.com), and other stories in that series are in progress, with another to appear in magazine form soon. He is also currently researching and writing on Fortean and paranormal topics. His research in this area has appeared in magazines such as Fate, Nexus, and World Explorer. He has been interviewed on a number of talk radio shows, including appearances on Coast to Coast AM, Strange Universe, the Edge AM, and TalkSport Radio's The James Whale Show, in the UK.
