OYA >> Goddess of storms
A white buffalo calf was born during a lightning storm, August 25, 2006.  Three months later, on Nov 27th, the white buffalo calf  was struck dead by a lightning bolt.  Soon afterwards, storm Goddess, OYA, reminded me of her 'medicine'.  She appears to be another of White BUffalo Calf Woman's allies in this 'Time of Warning' at the outset of the Shift of the Ages.

Originally a goddess of the Yoruba in western Africa, Oya was goddess of storms on the Niger River. Her name means "she tore" in the Yoruba language, for her winds tear up the river's calm surface; she is also called "mother of nine," for the nine estuaries of the Niger. She is a warrior goddess as well as patron of female leadership.

Buffalo horns are placed on her altar, for Oya is a water-buffalo when not in human form. Once, it is said, a hunter saw a buffalo shed its skin; the beautiful woman who emerged hid the skin in a thicket of thorns and went to market. The hunter stole Oya's skin, forcing her to become his mate. But his other wives teased her about being a buffalo, and in anger, she killed them and reclaimed her buffalo hide. She stormed out to the fields to find the man who had betrayed her, but he bought his life for some bean fritters-Oya's favorite food.

In addition to bean fritters, those who honor Oya offer her palm wine, goat meat and yams. Wednesday is her holy day, when her followers wear dark red beads to please her. When she enters a dancer, the dance becomes frenzied as Oya swings a sword (or a flyswatter). Sometimes she dances with arms outstretched to hold off ghosts, for she is the only goddess who can control them.

Oya emigrated with her children to the New World, changing form to suit her new surroundings. In Brazil, she was called Yansa; in Cuba, Olla, in Haiti, Aido-Wedo; in New Orlean, Brigette; she was also assimilated to the Catholic saints Theresa, Barbara and Catherine. A warrior storm goddess who also rules fire, she is one of the great divinities of Brazilian Macumba. In Santeria she is the nine-headed mate of the lightning god Chango. Patron of justice and memory, she is pictured holding a flame. gratefully quoted from Patricia Monaghan's The New Book of Goddesses & Heroines 1997

How to interpret these events?  White BUffalo Calf Woman is demonstrating her power >> She knows how to invoke  help from other wild dieties.  She likes to create life and dissolve it in a flashy style.
A few hours after the lightning struck the white buffalo calf, brilliant Sun Dogs were observed in the direction of the north & the east  by people who are aware of the white buffalo calf prophecy ! !
SUN DOGs were seen in the sky of Saskatchewan

"Whirling Rainbow Woman"

The Navajo call the Sun Dog a 'Sun Bow' or 'Whirling Rainbow'.
In Navaho sand paintings, Whirling Rainbow is depicted as four women of various colors bent at waist with toes touching to form a clockwise turning swastika. A full Sun Bow likewise includes four colored Sundogs oriented to the four directions.  According to her legend, White BUffalo Calf Woman changed form from a woman to a black buffalo calf, then red, then yellow, and finally white. These colours represent the four cardinal directions on the Medicine Wheel.   Interesting, 2006 is year of the Fire Dog according to the Tibetan calendar.

The lightning bolt struck the white buffalo calf on the crest of a powerful event in our solar system/zodiac. . . . . .

On the eve of November 25th 2006, Jupiter, the lord of the ancient gods & giant of the planets, moved into Sagittarius, the sign of the Archer. Jupiter in the heavens remains in each sign of the zodiac for approximately thirteen months, taking twelve years to transit the entire zodiac. At the end of each of these cycles, matters must progress to a new level, or else they will fall away into obscurity and eventually oblivion.  Jupiter is said to 'rule' Sagittarius according to astrology.

Observe the 'eye of Jupiter' >> a swirling storm on the Jovial surface.
A powerful cycle is observed.  Jupiter last 'danced' in Sagittarius twelve years ago. 1994 was a pivotal year for Earth.  At the time of the August 1994 full moon, the first non~albino white buffalo calf, named 'Miracle',  was born as a sign of White BUffalo Calf Woman's return (the 2006 white buffalo was born at the same hobby farm in Wisconsin & was genetically unrelated to 'Miracle')>>  http://home.earthlink.net/~stalkingbuffalowoman/id13.html
'Miracle's birth was heralded by cosmic hoopla exactly one month earlier ! 'Someone' apparently knew that a sacred birthing was soon
to happen. .. . . .
Around the period of the July '94 full moon, Jupiter was
struck 21 times by fragments of a large comet and the effects were felt on Earth in the form of earthquakes.  The eye of Jupiter has been observed for 3,000 years by Chinese astronomers.  In 1994 it suddenly began spinning in the opposite direction!
