Performance - 1970 Plymouth Duster

Carlsbad Outlaw Brackets

Burnout Here's an old shot from Carlsbad, when running low 11's. Traction and horsepower tuning easily improved the numbers to a best of 10.75/126. Now, the Duster should run mid-9's with the 523 cid stroker motor, and mid-10's with the backup 440.

At this high altitude track, the backup 440 motor runs mid 10's at 128 MPH. The 523 stroker motor produced consistent 10.0's at 135 MPH. Nine’s are there, with some tuning of the ladder bar set-up. Be careful what you wish for. I just got in a bunch of trouble for running 9's at over 135 MPH. It looks like a full cage is the next project. The most difficult and rewarding change so far was the new back-half.
