I think of Rosie as one of the
Earth Angels of daytime TV. She, along with Oprah, brought dignity
back to talk shows. She gave us laughter and shared stories about her life,
family, and friends with us. She isn't afraid to address her concerns about
guns, hate crimes, etc. She is genuinely concerned about kids and isn't
afraid to express it. I could sit down for an hr during the day and feel
comfortable watching her and enjoy myself. Her show wasn't targeting families
who are miserable and who are in pain and need counseling more than they
need to air their problems on national tv. I have laughed with Rosie and
cried with her. I think the most emotional moment I can remember
was when Elton John played a song that reminded her of her mother. That
was a very touching time and I could relate to her also. It brought her
to my level where she wasn't "Rosie, the daytime star". She was Rosie who
had lost a mother and had the same experiences as the rest of us.
I applaud her for giving us 1
hr. a day to laugh and share with her as she jokes with her guests or is
just as giddy around them (like Tom Cruise for instance). She gave us a
show that we could let our kids watch in the afternoons without having
to watch dysfunctional families in pain.
My hat is off to you Rosie and
you are definitely an Earth Angel to me.
