The Missouri State Campers Association (MSCA), affiliated with FCRV, has been in existence since 1963!

What is Family Campers and RVers?

Family Campers and RVers (FCRV) is an international nonprofit family camping organization that includes every kind of camper and every kind of camping gear - from pup tents to the fanciest motor home. Chapters camp together on a regular basis to enjoy the benefits of group camping.

What are the benefits of group camping?

  • Fun, fun, fun!
  • Camping with friends
  • Making new friends
  • Becoming part of an extended family
  • Trying new campgrounds
  • Sharing activities and hobbies (Hiking, crafts, sight seeing, bird watching, photography, dancing, rock hounding, fishing, boating and games such as horseshoes, Bongo board or Boink)
  • Traveling together
  • Borrowing that egg you forgot

Our Mission.........

The Friendliest People in the World!

What does a chapter do?

Chapters usually camp once a month during "Camping Season" and get together during winter months for a meeting, potluck, or plan the activities for the next year. Chapters plan all kinds of activities, including restaurant meals, shows, sporting events, historic and environmental tours, adopt-a-family projects, costume contests, rig-decorating contests, games and trips to Missouri Attractions. Sometimes several chapters camp together or get together for holiday activities (favorites are chili cookouts and Halloween parties). Some chapters are involved in service projects such as the conservation projects, recycling programs and disaster relief.

Where do chapters camp?

Each chapter chooses the kind of camping location they like. You'll find Missouri FCRV chapters camping in Missouri State Parks, Corp of Engineers campgrounds and commercial campgrounds. Whether you like to sit around the campfire and watch the stars and tell tall tales, go hiking or sightseeing or campground activities, you'll enjoy all the options Missouri has to offer.

Can I camp in other states with FCRV?

Beyond the chapter level, there are state, regional and national campouts. You'll find activities for youth, teens, adults and retirees at these campouts. MSCA FCRV sponsors a Spring State Campout in May and a Fall State Camput in September. You'll camp with families at these two campouts in Missouri and meet lots of new friends at Regional campouts. One regional is Area 1 and their campouts are held in the Spring and Fall. Each July, the National Campvention is hosted in one of the regions of the U.S. or in one of the Canadian provinces and brings together 1,000 to 2,000 camping families in the world. Caravans are often organized for campers to travel together to national campouts.

How do I find a chapter that shares my interests?

We try to match you with a chapter whose members have interest similar to yours. Whether you like fishing or boating or whatever we'll find a chapter you will feel comfortable in. And we are growing…new chapters are started each year.
