Here's the group that took our recent hike in the Cleveland National
Forest.
Here's a picture from Heninger Flats. Yes, the trail is even hotter
than it looks.
This picture is from just above Gilbert Lake, high in the Eastern Sierras.
A little bit of work to get there, and an occasional mosquito, but always
worth it. On this 1991 trip, we camped at Matlock Lake. Many of us took
a day hike on Saturday to Kearsarge Pass, and looked down on the lakes.
As the sun sets in the mountains, the last glimmer of sunlight on Independence
Peak fades as do any memories of the city. This photo was also taken on
the 1991 trip into Matlock Lake.
Truly a two dog day! Back locally again, Mick and his two dogs rest
on the peak monument of Mt. Baden-Powell. This short drive can lead to
quite a workout, with a wonderful view from the top. You don't even have
to sit on an ant hill to get a rest.
