Hurricane Ike Info at Your Fingertips!
‘GLO EARTH” IS AWESOME SITE!

Jerry Patterson is our Land Commissioner. Everyone knows that’s he’s also a Veteran
and a pilot. But did anybody know he would do something for cool for “Texas Techies? Well, he has. GLO Earth is
powered by Google Earth. Moreover, for those who us who suffered through Hurricane IKE and just can’t get enough
information, it’s the ultimate resource.

GLO Mobile Information Unit

Coastal homeowners with questions about the 4.5-foot line of elevation, emergency rules, FEMA buyouts or
other permitting issues can get answers at the General Land Office’s Mobile Information Unit. The Mobile Unit was been
activated in an effort to bring GLO hurricane response information directly to the citizens impacted by Ike, and will be rotated
between Bolivar Peninsula, Galveston Island, and Brazoria County over the next couple of months.
Deployment of the Mobile Information Unit is just the latest effort by Commissioner Patterson to help coastal
homeowners rebuild after Ike. Patterson also released GLO Earth, a Google Earth-based application that shows how the upper
Texas coast looked before and after Ike. GLO Earth also shows where the new 4.5-foot line of elevation is, making crucial
information easily available for coastal property owners, wherever they may be. Links below will provide additional information
on GLO Earth and other maps.

"The Secret Life of A Black Trophy Wife" is my response to the past two decades of negative media stereotypes
that seem to define people of color. Contrary to popular belief, although many people of African-American descent did live
in neighborhoods limited racially by segregation and most of us did not live in social dysfunctional ghettos consumed by lives
of crime. We live regular lives in cities, on farms and in small towns.
I was Girl Scout until I was 17 years old who grew up in a multicultural professional family. And all of my relatives
and friends worked toward the American Dream as hard as any other ethnic group.
This is a book about being an American first.
