Abstract
As interactive walkthroughs become more pervasive, there exists a need for a standard interactive walkthrough toolkit for incorporating both efficient visibility algorithms and fast rendering functions . pfWalkthru is an attempt for a toolkit for interactive walkthroughs. It is built on top of Performer , a standard rendering toolkit. pfWalkthru also supports dynamic visibility algorithms based on cells and portals [Teller, 92, Luebke, 95] . pfWalkthru has been tested with good results on architectual models with varying complexity. Future toolkit functions include the support for radiosity, multiple viewpoints, dynamic cell manipulations (cell boundary changing), and active simulation hooks for user applications.
