DWL-900AP+ Power Hack
Info: The DWL-900AP+ has a power output of 17dBm. With the current firmware the power output can be lowered, which brings up the question can it be raised?
Information shows that the radio is capable of outputting more power the the stock
17dBm.
Hardware: Please see this site for Info on Rev. A&B: http://www.ralphfowler.com/links/dwl900.html

I found this site that has modded firmware for the DL-614+. I don't have a 614+ so I don't know if the firmware works.

Power Hack Information
The Power Hack for the 900AP+ has ended for two reasons. The first is that the firmware developer has left the project and second and most important is that D-link has added anti-hacking firmware measures in the new firmwares. Sorry there will be no more Power Hack firmwares but there is some info on hardware Power Hacks!
Firmware Power Hack Info:
The Power Hack only works in AP mode. In bridge mode, none of the power output settings can be changed so it transmits at the normal 17dBm ( even if you select 12.5dBm, etc). The software Power Hack has an ouput around 22dBm.

Power Hack and RF Spectrum
It seems that the Power Hack is somewhat dirty:( This is probably the case because some overdriving of the output from the transmitter which results in a distortion. This can be seen by the spectrum showing more power in the sidebands. Here are some pictures for your reference.
The tests are made with the
ADVANTEST R4131D spectrum analyzer:
Span 50 MHz, Bandwidth 100 kHz, sweeptime 1 second, inputlevel + 10 dBm.
DWL-900AP+ hardware version C2, firmware 3.06.
Channel 6, power 100 %.

This is the normal 100% (17dBm)

This is with max power (notice: sidebands have greatly increased compared to 100% power)
