| Q: | Why do you track these ratings? |
| A: | Be it because there are too many hours in the day or because it's too much fun. Either way, people like seeing the reviews, so it's a worthwhile cause. And no, there are definitely not enough hours in the day. |
| Q: | Will I remain anonymous? |
| A: | Absolutely. We have no reasons to give out your name, e-mail address or any other information. We will never post your information on-line, nor will we ever sell it to anyone. |
| Q: | I noticed you don't rate all your events. Why? |
| A: | We rate all public events, but if we hold a private party, we won't subject the host to being evaluated. It's not fair to the host after all their hard work. Also, we don't want to encourage total strangers to knock on the door and ask to have dinner in the individual's kitchen. |
| Q: | If I go out to a restaurant or a movie on my own, can I submit a review? | Q: | I don't belong to your group. Can I still participate in the reviews? |
| A: | Absolutely. We firmly believe that this is a situation where quantity yields quality. |
| Q: | How can I submit my ratings? |
| A: | You can always fill out the form on this web page. It's probably the easiest way. At times when we know you participated in one of our group events you may get an e-mail survey to fill out and send back. Sometimes we also use paper forms and baseball bats when other methods fail. |
| Q: | The web breaks ratings into half (0.5) point increments, but sometimes I feel this isn't quite the resolution I want. Can I provide ratings using more detailed values? |
| A: | Yes, but for that you'll need to e-mail us. 99 out of 100 times the half point granularity is more than enough, but we recognize that at times there is the urge to use quarter or tenth of a point (or even smaller!) valuations. If you're submitting the rating via the web page, make a note of your rating in the comments section. If you're responding to an e-mail or filling out a form by hand, simply write in the value you want. Keep in mind the following tips: nothing less than "1", nothing larger than "5". The database will ignore out of range numbers. Also, keep in mind that half the places you'll go to will be below average and half will be above. A lot of people have the tendency to rate everything as a "4" or "5". It's great that you liked it, but compared to the other places you've been to, how does it rate? |
| Q: | Do restaurants/studios/hotels/museums/etc read your review page? |
| A: | We don't know. We'd certainly love to have them read what people say about them. The idea here is to share information and help them improve. We want to eat at good restaurants, see good movies and overnight at good hotels. We track ratings so we know where those are. We allow comments so people may share what the problems are. We also encourage people to leave good remarks about their experiences. We hope that the establishments being reviewed read what is said about them and take customer opinions seriously. |
| Q: | Sometimes I am asked to review a park or a show, but I never see these ratings get posted. Why is that? |
| A: | Our programmer is still trying to come up with a good delivery method. Different places attract different crowds, so we're still trying to find a good grouping. Please rest assured that this will be published. |
| Q: | What is the Omega Glory? |
| A: | The USS Omega Glory is a Denver area science-fiction club that 'sponsors' these ratings. For more information on the USS Omega Glory, visit http://home.earthlink.net/~mkha. |
