In-depth study of the Sonoran Desert (Arizona) bio-ecosystem, including flora, fauna and insects. Over the past year I have focused my efforts on the writing and illustration of a comprehensive guidebook to the Sonoran Desert and added much of my findings and observations to the content of my website, Sonoran Desert Naturalist (http://arizonensis.org) which currently draws 1,000s of visitors per month. In addition, I have undertaken independent study to become proficient in Visual Basic computer language.

As lead specialist, I developed and managed programs in food safety and food borne illness detection and prevention. I was also responsible for the inspection of restaurants, food-processing facilities, water supply and disposal systems within the county in order to detect and enforce the correction of code violations that represented at risk public health safety.

As part of an emergency Fire Ant eradication team, my expertise in the discipline of insect behavioral science and my ability to make taxonomic determination of specimens was utilized by the agriculture commission in order to successfully complete this undertaking.

Instructor of laboratory courses in Biology and Entomology at the under-grad and graduate level.

Conducted in-depth studies on the biology of various insect parasites.

Responsible for the evaluation of pest control measures as conducted by the US Forest Service.
