Another of my hobbies besides Science Fiction is playing with rocks and a camera.

These pictures are taken with either an very old Olympus digital camera,
or my most recent purchase: a Nikon D-40.

A friend of mine got me hooked on rock-stacking and balancing, and I've been
addicted ever since. I don't use any helpers, no glue, sand to hold them up, just
gravity and careful positioning. It's less difficult than you might think, and
surprisingly relaxing.

One of my earliest rock-stacks, perched upon a gargoyle made by a friend of mine: Eric Joseph.
Another early stack in the backyard of my former domecile. I wish I could have taken a better picture, but my camera was pretty limited back then.
One of my favorite shots. The sun was setting, the sky was just right, and the color on the rocks is fantastic.
Another of my favorites. I like to get impossible-looking balances, and then find a nice dramatic way of showing it off. The setting sun was perfect for this.
In honor of Halloween, I made a double-ring of stones. It's fun to build an array as a total package.
Tree-Ring. Somehow the idea of standing stones in a ring around a tree just seems right.
This is from a collectin of photos taken at night of my last collection of rockstacks made October 30th.
