Gooch's Web Suggestions
I sent an email out to a bunch of folks about suggestions on my web site. My good friend, Gary Gooch, in Missoula, MT replied.
Hello Mike,
Web Page looks good and kudos to you for getting it up and running. I've a few suggestions for the overall design element. We're lookin' for Gestalt here, defined as the whole view taken at once in order to determine context. Dismiss with the fractals, dude. What gives, Is Mckenna's Alchemical Garden your default? Look, what you need is no more of the black background, let's go a little more neutral, maybe a Moab Sandstone. The page should open on a still from the 70's hit "Mandingo." Try to find something with the "Man" consorting with some really pale white chicks.
Drop in some Elvis, Morrison, X-Files UFO abduction clips and then move on the meat. Review Marilyn Manson's latest and compare and contrast that with the soundtrack from "Easy Rider" mark it up as a personal freedom thing, i.e., in pursuit of the American dream/popular Zeitgeist. As far as the environment goes, make it a little more apocalyptic (see the works of M. Rabid nowitz), You know, tell us what's going to happen if'n we don't clean up our act. Now, as far as the image page goes, try to acquire some images of New Jersey cheerleaders who have unwittingly been dropped on acid.
Just kidding, the page looks great, but you need to drop in some personal info on your friends out here on the front lines. Remember, "...the revolution will not be televised."
I'm leaving for Big Bend on the 25th and won't be back until the 23rd of March. Wish me luck.
