About StepOne-
StepOne Designs was founded in 1992 by Michael J. Coogan, a graduate of the University of Massachusetts.
Michael was a member and drum major of the UMass Marching band under the direction of George N. Parks and Thom Hannum. Michael
marched with the Cadets Drum and Bugle Corps, and has been on the instructional staff of the Boston Crusaders and Crossmen.
In addition Michael has worked with Westfield H.S from Houston, TX, under the direction of Philip Gieger and Frank Troyka.
He has also worked with the Marching Illini at the University of Illinois Urbana/Champaign under Gary Smith, and was the associate
marching band director at Boston University, with Chris Parks. Michael is currently a graduate assistant for the marching
band at Towson University, under the direction of John Miliauskas.

DRILL DESIGN-
StepOne uses Pyware 3D Java, the most powerful drill design software in the world. All drill is custom designed
for your group, no "stock charts" to be adjusted. Any size group can be accomodated, at any skill level. From the smallest
novice group, to the largest competetive group, StepOne has you covered. Michael has written drill for bands like the Woodlands
H.S. in Texas, Champaign Central H.S. in Illinois, Duxbury H.S. in Massachusetts, and Boston University. No band is too big
or too small. All drill is written to fit your bands skill level and your budget.

UNIFORM AND FLAG DESIGN-
StepOne can help the look of your group even before you step on the field. Catalog uniforms and flags can
be too common, and expensive. Have a design ready to give to a uniform maker, or flags designed around a theme show for a
perfect look and fit.

CLINICS AND ADJUDICATION-
As the founder of StepOne Designs, Michael J. Coogan is available as a clinician or adjudicator for you
group or festival. Michael has been associated with many of the top marching organizations in the country, as a clinician
at the Bands of America Summer Symposium, staff member and adjudicator for Yea! and USSBA marching band competitions, and
staff member for the George N. Parks Drum Major Academy. Share in the knowledge and experience of some of the best in the
bussiness, and help your band grow.
