SAT 1 - Tuesday Big Movie
Tension, Action, Passion. Thrills to the end. A deaf young painter is drawn
into a dark murder-for-hire plot.
The restaurant is classy, the meal delicious. Unfortunately Laura (Aglaia
Szyszkowitz) is with a date who babbles on about art with no taste. Bored,
the painter lets her gaze wander across the room until a conversation at the
next table attracts her attention. The deaf woman reads the lips of two men
who are unaware of her, that one is to murder an important Hamburg politician!
At the police-precinct, an agitated officer gives her story little credence.
But for Billy Tanauer (Thomas Kretschmann) her murder-for- hire story draws
his interest to her and the case. Especially when he clearly realizes that
the beautiful Laura is describing his client, Reiger (Walter Kreye) to whom
the detective has long been corruptly passing information, keeping it secret
from his partner Lohmann (Dominique Horwitz). When Reiger finds out about
the witness, he sets his killer on her. And Tanauer finds himself in a diabolical
dilemma...
Result: Great mix of mystery, action and love-story with much Hamburg local
color. Despite some brutal scenes, very enjoyable.
