The platinum motif exhibited on these rings and cufflinks
is known as an "Armorial Bearing", and the practice of devising and granting armorial insignia, and
of tracing genealogies, is known as "Heraldry". The origins of heraldry date back
to late 12th Century Europe, and the necessity for identification in battle. However, there is no doubt
that as soon as shields and helmets came into use, they began to be decorated, and that these decorations combined traditional
mystical symbols and the relics of savagery through which a man earned a nickname based on an animal or its characteristics.
In a day when weapons were the
most cherished of a man's personal belongings, a father's sword, shield, and banner were the most valuable
of inherited possessions. Herein lie the rudiments of heredity in armory; the science of armory begins to
evolve: The son upholding the fame and honor displayed in the pictured signs and emblems
under which his father had battled.
Finally, in the early part of the 13th Century, the closed helmet was introduced, and fostered
the need for identification of leaders- for their allies as well as their enemies. All those who held
land bore arms, and "the right to bear arms" was granted by the Crown. Thus the formalization of ornament
adorning helmet, shield, and surcoat (hence the term "Coat-of-Arms) was
born, officially beginning the "Art of Heraldry". Our Enamel and
Platinum rings and cufflinks are designed to revisit these themes with beauty and distinction.

Many different rings are available,
many
styles in many colors, and the same is true
for our crest cufflinks. The extraordinary
details of the crests, though enlarged
for
better viewing, may not be translated well
by a monitor screen. They are astonishing,
however, when examined up-close.
