I let in the night
chill air striking my cheek
the sheets soft around me

against my back
a cat purrs sleepily
and curls tighter

I run my hand
along the smooth headboard
feeling my muscles stretch

the house is silent
filled with the darkness
waiting for morning

I dream of you.
