Bloomingdales in Manhattan had made a store window using mannequins created to have oversized Blythe heads. Gina Garan, at
her site "This is Blythe," posted photos of the windows.
The Pirate and I are big fans of Zippy the Pinhead. Zippy often travels around the world going to diners and meeting oversized
advertising monuments (like various "Muffler Men.") Fans send Bill Griffith photos of places and people that Zippy
might like to meet. So, I thought it was a match made in heaven and sent Bill G. a link to Gina's photos. Thus this strip
was born, appearing in newspapers on March 24, 2004. The strip below has been hand colored and was purchased for me by a dear
friend from Bill G.
