HAPPY BIRTHDAY

 Lil' Subie!

Mid-morning on Tuesday, July 20th, 2004, in Bethany, Missouri, Lil' Subie reached her 200,000th mile. For all of you doubters, for those of you who delicately suggested forsaking my baby for a newer model, for those who scoffed at my repair bills, for those who wondered whether Eric Anderson should take on the burden of adopting this white-painted stepchild, for those whose jealousy in the face of a 1988 Subaru no-frills utilitarian vehicle threatened your very notion of self--this web page is for you.

Jamie was behind the wheel. We had recently left Iowa behind and entered Missouri.

Eric "coolguy" Anderson was providing comic relief as the moment approached.

199,999!!!!
Here it comes!
[Imagine the thrill, the excitement, the butterflies in my stomach at this very moment! This was Subie's day to shine!]

200,000!!!!
[Okay, I used a disposable 35 mm camera picked up at the Pamida in Osceola, Iowa, digitized at 72 dpi by Walgreen's.]
But seriously, that's what it says -
200,000 freaking miles!

Bethany, Missouri, hosted this historic event.

Jamie demonstrates her undying affection and gratitude.

Eric got impatient and didn't let her blow the candles out. If you didn't figure it out already, these pictures are linked to bigger pictures.  This is a classic Eric Anderson 'possum-eatin'-shit face.  You should really see the close-up.  Go ahead, click it, you know you want to.
