B. J. has co-authored two autobiographical books. "Home Where I Belong" was co-written with Jerry B. Jenkins in 1978 and is about the beginning years of B.J.'s career, his drug addiction and his being born again. "In Tune" is his second book, co-written with his wife, Gloria, in 1983. It is their true story of life together and the many ups and downs their marriage has faced during his career. These books have given us a better understanding of the man we call B.J. It is evident that this is a man who loves to use his God-given talent and sing for others, loves his wife and family, and loves the Lord.

B.J. played the part of Jocko, a gunfighter, in the movie JORY. Fans can often find this video offered on eBay.
