MIPT Services: What We Offer |

Lise McCarthy, PT, MA, GCS, is a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy, a Fee-For-Service Provider and a Medicare Provider based in San Francisco. She provides physical therapy services to older and frail adults in the form of old-fashioned house calls. She is currently not contracted with any health insurance company other than Medicare. MIPT will bill Medicare when Medicare's requirements are met. Information about her professional fee schedule may be obtained by calling MIPT. Geriatric Physical Therapy Evaluation. This type of evaluation consists of obtaining a detailed medical history and examination, reviewing pertinent documents/records when available, performing tests and/or screenings, and, when appropriate, contacting other parties involved in the overall care of the patient. Physical Therapy Treatment generally consists of, but is not limited to, any of the following areas: Therapeutic Exercise, Neuromuscular Re-education, Gait and Stair Training, Therapeutic Massage, Manual Therapy, Therapeutic Activities, Wheelchair Management, Physical Performance Testing, Checking Proper Orthotic or Prosthetic Use, Community Re-entry Training, and Self-care, Home Management and Safety Training Fall Risk Assessment. This consists of assessing the home environment; testing the patient's mobility skill level, functional capacity, balance control, strength, joint movements, reflexes, and reactions; screening for compensatory movement patterns; identifying medications contributing to increased fall risk; taking a fall history; providing recommendations to reduce fall risk. Medically-Oriented Wellness/Maintenance Programs. When a patient has a chronic condition, physical therapy may be necessary to: design and establish a plan, to maximize/maintain functional status, or prevent/slow functional decline; determine a patient's need for assistive/adaptive equipment; assure patient safety; train patient, family or staff; and make periodic program re-evaluations. This is a Medicare covered benefit when provided by a licensed physical therapist who is a Medicare Provider. Billing Services Information Coming Soon |
