The Minnesota Brittany Club was formed August 9, 1960 by a small group of sportsmen.
The first club trial (sanctioned) was held that year & has continued on every year since that time. As interest
in the Brittany as a dual dog increased, the club sponsored specialty (conformation) shows were first augmented in 1972.
Thereby working towards the "Objective and Purpose" as outlined by our parent club, The American Brittany:
To promote cooperation and friendship among the breeders and owners of Brittanys
and to encourage higher standards in breeding, training, and showing of Brittanys in the field and in the show ring; to discourage
the breed from becoming split into groups of 'field dogs' and 'show dogs' and to strive to keep it forever a 'dual dog' .
By following these guidelines, we hope to keep the Brittany the wonderful bird dog/companion that he
is today.
