May survey question...  Why did you buy a MINI even though you knew you would have to go to Orlando or Tampa for service.

  Here are replies I received
(1)That I would be able to drive to Tampa or Orlando rather than being towed.

(2) My Mini had me at Hello....Saw it on the road-loved the looks of it- went to Downtown MINI for a test drive-and I was completely sold....Loved the feel of the car...I will definitely buy another one.....

(3)  A MINI must be worth it. Free service the first 3 years pays for the trip.
Other cars we might want also require a Orlando trip.

(4) With the mileage we do, we only have to take the Mini into Orlando about once a year for a Service..
...a small inconvenience to pay for the fun of driving our Mini

(5)  We saw them on the road approx 2 years ago and thought they were the cutest cars we had ever seen.  We kept test driving and pricing them back in Maryland  but just couldn't make ourselves buy one.  Then, we moved to Florida and wanted a convertible and decided to go for the Mini.  We got rid of a 4x4 and a full size sedan, got our Mini and have never regretted one minute of it.  Yes, we knew ahead that the nearest dealer was in Orlando but with  the Mini's good reputation we said what the heck.

(6)  I fell in love with the Mini about 25/30 years ago at a car show at the races at Watkins Glen, NY at the races.

When my SS was coming I decided to use part of it to BUY a MINI went to 2 dealers on near Tampa, FL he would not sell me a MINI unless it had an $800.00 plastic shield over the front of the car, I didn't want it so I left.

Went to Downtown MINI, meet Mike Priest (no long there) who owned 12 Mini's and 1 or 2 MINI's we got along fine no BS, some suggestions and I ordered it late September 2004 waited 6 or 8 weeks and drove it home.

I make a day of my trips to Orlando. I have lunch on Wall Street or the Greek restaurant next door to the dealers. Some times the wife comes along and we go shopping and go to PF Chang's for dinner.

I have gotten to know the service guys and find them to be quite and very profession and very good at what they do. I have even meet Lucas at the races at Sebring last summer.

All in All if I wanted a MINI part of the cost of doing business was a trip to Orlando for service.

(7)   In very few words   "THE PURE JOY OF DRIVING"

(8)  Why not? Every quality car...........BMW, Lexis,Porsche, Jaguar, and others have Dealerships that usually, you have to drive a distance for service.  But...................you get better gas mileage with a MINI!

(9)  There is just nothing quite like driving a MINI.  The car seems to energize the driver.   You know it is special when you notice everyone looking toward you.  At first  you think, Oooops, now what did I do.  Then you realize it is not you, it is  the MINI.  Then you park it and look back as you are walking away, yep, that's right, that car is cool and it is mine.  The car just cannot be ignored.  There are not many cars to come along like that.  Now, you might get the same feeling from driving a $150,000 Porsche, but I'm not sure.   I think it is an adventure and a statement.  On an adventure, you just go where you must.
