Welcome to the National Center for Latino Child & Family Research, a nonpartisan, national center dedicated to conducting research & disseminating research-based information on issues relevant to local, state & national practices & policies affecting the lives of Latino children & families.
Our Mission
The mission of NCLCFR is to increase the in-depth understanding & visibility of Latino child & family issues by:
- Reviewing, synthesizing, & disseminating information drawn from existing research, to multiple audiences.
- Conducting new research addressing issues of relevance to Latino children & families.
- Helping to increase the representation of Latino families & children in major research efforts, including ongoing state and/or national studies.
- Contributing to the development & refinement of assessment measures that more accurately & appropriately assess the growth & development of Latino children & families.
- Building research capacity within the field, including developing & creating new partnerships & networks, & providing opportunities for mentoring new researchers interested in studying Latino issues.
- Providing research-based, technical assistance to efforts within the practitioner community.
