Castrofate began in 2004 when Riffmeister Dan Castro (vocalist/guitarist) realized
he had a vision that needed to become a reality. As a member of various bands for a number of years, the growing urgency to
begin recording albums and have a committed band prompted the writing of the riffs that would become the debut album "Awakening
of the Beast." With the enormous help of Dan's cousin Rob Menak, who shared about a 10 year history in jamming with eachother
and have a serious click when playing together, the songs began to take shape. Dan and Rob's old bandmate James Danzo joined
on second guitar during the mastering stages of the album. The music is heavier, for fans of Metallica, Slayer, Testament,
Pantera, etc. The album was released on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 and is now available for $12. 2-sided T-shirts for the album
are also available and $12, and for those who need one of each, we have a package deal: a CD, a t-shirt, and a Midwest Nailgun
Vol. 1 Compilation which includes an unmastered version of "Punishment" all for $20. Castrofate performed their first 2 shows
at Brooklyn Metal Fest 2 and Metal Meltdown 3, the latter with the enormous help of Rex & Bob of COMBAT filling in on the
DRUMS and BASS!! The band are now looking for a new DRUMMER and BASSIST -- to begin recording the follow-up to "Awakening
