BUILDING THEORY...
Many years before I heard the term PPG, or even thought about making propellers, I began making fine hardwood furniture and for my home and family. I learned the value of using the best materials I could find, and using the time honored techniques used by Americas' great woodworking craftsmen. Whether I'm building a grandfather clock, a dresser, a jewelry box or a propeller for a PPG, the process always begins with the idea; This is going to be the best piece I've ever made.

THE PROCESS...
Every PPG Props propeller is crafted from FAS/Select hardwood lumber, carefully inspected for it's beauty and strength. Each board is finish planed, sanded flat with a drum sander, then glued and clamped over 100% of the gluing surface area for the highest strength, waterproof bond possible. Once the glue has cured, the propeller blank is given a rough shape with the use of a shop built profiler. The final carving of a propeller shape is completed on a state of the art CNC. After carving, final shaping of the blade continues with the use of rasps, files and hand sanding. Each prop is finished with several coats of hand rubbed, protective finish, and then spray balanced with durable urethane. The final result is a beautiful, durable propeller virtually identical to your original.

Below are a few pictures of my personal props I use on my PPG. They were all copied from the original prop purchased with my Para-Lite Sky Cruiser. More pictures of propellers can be found on the Photos/Other page. Click here to go there now.
