These were the Canaanites of the Bible, that the Early Hebrews contested for their lands. It's actually quite an effective army, and I've won DBA Tournaments using it. There is a large mounted contingent in its Light Chariots, as well as an even bigger rough terrain infantry force with its Auxilia. The odd Blade element actually comes in handy quite often holding the end of a line, or facing off against mounted. The skirmishing foot, or Psiloi, provide flexibility as either a fast force to seize terrain, or as rear rank support for either the Auxilia or Blade.
The miniatures are from 15mm Old Glory, and turned out rather well, I thought. I especially like how the General's chariot came together -- the royal purple color scheme really stands out on the battlefield.

I've made this type of camp vignette to sell to other folks, so I wanted one for myself. I used a Falcon Miniatures donkey loaded down with equipment, and converted a Canaanite spearman to be his handler. An Arab looking civilian became a merchant hawking his wares (a couple fancy beads) from in front of his tent. Simple, but effective.
