This is probably one of my all-time, best camps. I did it as a commission for Rob Runnels from Los Angeles, CA. He wanted a camp to use for one of his Eastern, elephant armies. So, I made the theme that the general (lower right, under parasol) was paying a visit to the elephant pens in the camp, where they were being readied for the upcoming battle. One of the elephants is an 15mm Old Glory Indian elephant (the one with the blanket), while the other is simply a plastic elephant from a toy store. I made it look like they're getting ready to toss the blanket over that elephant, while the other one is fully equipped and being led out of the pens by his mahout. The mahout and fighting crew are painted to match with a jade and red-brown theme.
The elephant being readied is still drinking from a little sculpy water bowl (hard to see, but filled with clear resin and gloss coated to look like water in the bowl). The pens themselves are constructed with my usual craft sticks. The figures are a mix of Old Glory Indians and Arabs (spearman and mahout), Irregular Khmer (general and javelinman) and "Oriental Peasants" from Feudal Castings.
