Do something for someone that the person will never know who did it.
Write a letter or go visit someone that is all alone.
Help out a single Mom or Dad.
Buy someone else's meal at a resturaunt without them knowing and have the waiter send them a note to tell
them, "Jesus loves you :o)"
While you're out shopping, if you see someone in line that can't afford their purchase,
offer to add it to your checkout instead.
Buy a book of gift certificates (like the $5 books from McD's or BK and
put one in your glove box. If you see someone in need on the street give one away. You might also include a favorite scripture
verse along with the booklet. Another idea is to give these to people you know and ask them to pass the idea on to their friends.
Check out the Letters from Dad Web site that talks about leaving a legacy to your family through writing.
A Christmas tradition that my sister started several years ago is instead of spending money on many gifts for family
at Christmas, we write a letter about a chosen family member. The way we've done it is to draw names from a hat a few weeks
before Christmas and whoever you pick, you can write a letter about how that person has touched your life in some special
way or write about a special memory or quality. We've had fun letters, serious letters, poems, songs - whatever you feel
inspired to come up with. Remember to keep it positive and to look for the good in that person. You'll be amazed at what
your group comes up with.
