Time Zone Problems

Times on the calendar don't match event times

Often, problems with events appearing on the wrong time in the calendar are caused by incorrect time zone settings. Quit Entourage, and go to System Preferences. Open Date & Time Preferences, and click the "Time Zone" tab. Make sure you have a city in your time zone selected. Then, go back and make sure the date and time are set correctly. If they're not, correct them and click the "Save" button.

Now, launch Entourage, and go to Entourage > Preferences (Entourage > General Preferences in Entourage X). Under General Preferences, choose Calendar. Set the default time zone for new events to the local time zone, and click OK. New events should now display properly. You might need to open previously created events, and go to Event > Time Zone > Your Time Zone to change them so that the times display properly.

Note that because of a recent change in the U.S. that will cause DST to start earlier in March in 2007, events in that time period will not appear properly on the calendar. It is expected that a future update will correct this.

Time zones are missing in Entourage Preferences

This is likely occurring because of a corrupted Timezones file in Office. Insert the Office X or 2004 CD into your computer, and drag the file "Timezones," in
Microsoft Office version CD/Microsoft Office version/Office/
to
HD/Applications/Microsoft Office version/Office/

Choose to replace the existing file when you are prompted, re-launch Entourage, and all of the time zones should become available.
